India state carrier, recently owned by TATA groups, has announced to reopen the flight booking to/from India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Jeddah/Riyadh/Dammam) from October 31 2021 to March 26 2022. This announcement indicates that the passenger's movement will normalize soon after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the pandemic during the financial year 2018-19, the busiest route between India and Saudi Arabia was Jeddah-Mumbai, also the busiest route for Air India Airlines. The second busiest way for Air India was Jeddah-Kochi.
Air India constitutes 20 percent of total passengers between these two countries, while Saudi Airlines had the highest share 48 percent of total 3 million passengers in 2018-2019.
